Gulhane Park
It was established and designed especially for the Ottoman Caliphs. It is believed to be an extension of the great garden and the center of relaxation that was established in the Byzantium era. It was a destination for promenade by Ottoman Sultans and Caliphs up to Sultan Abdel Hameed II, the last real Sultan of the Ottoman Empire.
The garden was separated from Topkabi palace in the age of Sultan Abdel Mejeed in 1839 AD. The garden was open to the public during the age of Sultan Abdel Hameed II, the last Sultan of the Ottoman Empire in 1912 AD, as a public garden and picnic center. The garden is located in the tourist area of Sultan Ahmed, behind the palace and museum of the great Topkabi, that contains the monuments gathered by Ottoman Sultans throughout hundreds of years. It is considered the riches museum in Turkey and its entrance is next the entrance of the garden to the right, one can find it just when entering the great garden. It contains hundreds of giant trees, the biggest of them above which Storks nest.
The garden is considered an entrance to two museums: The museum of Topkabi to the right, and the museum of Islamic science to the left. It is a great chance to the Arab and Muslim tourists to enter this museum to get to know the Islamic science throughout the Islamic eras.
