Abant Lake is approximately 5 hours away from Bursa, and 2 hours away from the capital Ankara. The distance between it and Istanbul is 280 Km. It is 34 km away from the south west of Bolu, which is surrounded by a lot of mountains. It is characterized by roads that have on its sides pine trees. It covers an area of 125 Hectars and reaches the height of 1350 meters. The deepest point in the lake is 18 meters. This lake is famous for its trouts. This lake feeds on rain and snow and some of the springs that pour into it.

On the edges of the lake there are some hotels and a lot of restaurants. You can enjoy riding carriages pulled by horses to go on a trip on the lake side. You can also ride bikes, and you can visit some of the waterfalls near the lake which flows from several mineral water springs.
