The Panorama Museum
It is an exhibition, more of a museum. It was established by the Turkish government recently, in order to get back to 857 H that corresponds with 1453 AD, when the Muslims opened Constantinpole (Istanbul) in a famous battle; immortalized in Islamic history, lead by Sultan Mehmed Al-Fatih.
Here you will be able to watch this famous battle in an interesting and an impressive way. As the experience of engineers merges with artists, through the usage of modern developed technology, in addition to a lot of special effects, such as: 3D images, motion and sound effects; So, you would live the moment of the great opening with all your senses and feelings.
The Panorama consists of 3 stories and the higher dome (the dome of presenting the battle). When entering the ground level you go down first to the basement, where you can see a group of modern explaining tools like monitors and movie theatres that explain this great historical event, what perceeded it and what came after it. Considering the fact that this explanation is written in Turkish, you can use the automated voice guide, which explains parts, images, and scenes of the panorama in an automatic way programed to work the moment you pass next to it. Then you go up to the higher level via stairs or an elevator to find a display of images and maps that explains the siege the perceeded the battle.
The walls are covered here with a lot of panoramic images of this battle. Placed at the end of it two scale models of the dome; a small one and a big one. Finally, you reach the most important and the biggest part of the exhibition, which is the (Dome). It is a round dome of 360 degrees. On its walls you can find drawings displaying the battle ground; drawings that you cannot distinguish between its beginning and end. This is accompanied by interesting sound effects of cannon shots, war drums, horse whinny, and the shouting of soldiers, which gives you an exceptional feeling, as if you are part of the action. It provokes in you the sense of being proud by the greatness of the Islamic history and the status of Muslims during this era. In front of each part of the drawing there are weapons and tools that was already used in the battle, most notably the giant cannon that the Muslims developed and used to open the city. In addition to the remaining parts of the siege towers and the personal weapons of the soldiers in the battle.
